Head-on collision injures 2 in Maryland

There are many different types of car accidents in Baltimore, ranging from the minor fender bender to a fatal t-bone side collision. However, perhaps one of the most dangerous type of car accidents is the head-on collision, especially where high speeds are involved. This is because the two vehicles have momentum moving forward that comes to a screeching halt once they collide. The occupants in the car tend to keep moving though, causing serious, sometimes even fatal, injuries.

A head-on collision occurred in Joppa, Maryland along Mountain Road recently. The two drivers were both taken to the hospital with injuries, one in critical condition; the other’s condition is unknown at this time. The accident occurred just after 3:30 p.m. when the 60-year-old driver of a pickup truck veered over the center line and hit head long into a car traveling in the opposite direction. The car, driven by a 31-year-old Maryland man, went off the road and rolled down an embankment.

The car’s driver was trapped in the car and a special medical team was called in to help with releasing him. Once he was out, he was taken to a Baltimore hospital via ambulance.

After colliding with the car, the driver of the pickup truck crashed into a dump truck that was following behind the car. The driver of the dump truck did not sustain serious injuries, but the driver of the pickup was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition.

The car’s driver may wish to retain a lawyer in order to ensure that he is properly compensated for his injuries and the damages done to his vehicle in this accident.
