Driver killed in crash, family may file wrongful death actions

A fatal accident in Maryland is currently being investigating by law enforcement officials. According to a recent report, a crash between a motorcyclist and a car resulted in the death of the motorcycle operator. The victim's surviving family members may be entitled to compensation for any losses this incident has created. Achieving compensation may be accomplished by successfully litigating a wrongful death claim.

This particular crash occurred in the afternoon on Dec. 12, in Waldorf. A 54-year-old male on a motorcycle was driving northbound when he collided with a sedan making a left-hand turn. Both of the drivers suffered injuries in the wreck and were transported to a medical center for treatment. Sadly, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.

The driver thought responsible for this incident is a 76-year-old woman from Brandywine. Her injures were not considered to be life-threatening. Her current condition is unknown. At this time, authorities have not indicated if any charges will be filed in this case.

This was certainly a tragic accident, one that has forever changed the family of the deceased. Not only will the loss of a loved one be emotionally difficult to handle, but the financial implications of this incident can also be devastating. The victim's family may seek to recoup their losses by filing a wrongful death claim against the person believed responsible for this incident. A Maryland civil court may grant compensation to the decedent's loved ones for any and all recoverable damages -- if negligence can be adequately established.
