Driver dead after head-on collision in Maryland

Driving an automobile in Baltimore takes all of one’s attention. There really is no room for distractions. However, in today’s fast-paced world, some distractions such as screaming kids in the backseat or a catchy billboard are almost inevitable. It is possible to minimize distractions, though. Activities like talking on the phone or texting, messing with the stereo system, applying makeup or even eating in the car should be avoided when driving. These things can take your attention away from the road. Even if you are distracted for a split second, serious accidents can occur.

Distracted driving is often the reason why drivers drift from their lanes of traffic. A car that veered out of its lane and crossed the center line in Frederick County, Maryland hit head-on into another vehicle recently, causing serious injuries and one fatality.

The car accident occurred on a Thursday at 4:24 p.m. The 46-year-old driver of a Ford pickup truck was driving southbound on Woodsboro Pike when he went over the center line and hit a Jeep with three people inside. The Jeep’s 41-year-old driver died at the scene; no word on the condition of the 40-year-old and 17-year-old passengers. The driver of the pickup truck sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a hospital in Baltimore.

The family members of the driver who died in this accident would be well advised to consult with an attorney regarding their case. They may be entitled to compensation for their loved one’s pain and suffering, funeral expenses and damages done to the vehicle.
