Driving in Baltimore is not a person’s right, rather his or her privilege. If that privilege is misused, authorities reserve the right to take it away. Along with driving privileges come a long list of responsibilities. Drivers need to understand that vehicles have a real potential of causing serious injuries and damage to others. A 24-year-old Baltimore man found this out first hand recently after causing a car accident that left another motorist dead. The man was allegedly driving his Jeep under the influence at around 2:00 a.m. when he t-boned a sedan driven by a 24-year-old. The sedan’s driver was taken to the hospital where he eventually died as a result of his injuries.
The eastbound lanes on the highway where the accident occurred were shut down for around five hours. Authorities arrested the driver of the Jeep and took him to a detention center where he is being held without bond. He faces charges of aggravated involuntary manslaughter while driving under the influence.
