Workers in Baltimore have the right to go to work and not have to worry about their safety. If something does happen that adversely affects an employee’s health, he or she may be entitled to compensation.
Four workers were injured after an accident that occurred as they were dismantling a stage after a recent concert. One is an employee of Live Nation; the other three work for Ohio State University, the site of the concert. Two of them, ages 47 and 49, suffered minor injuries to their left feet; a 26-year-old injured his forearm, and a 41-year old suffered a minor injury.
The accident happened after a Luke Bryan concert in Columbus, Ohio at around 12:04 a.m. when a forklift hit the stage and caused two sections of the stage to fall. Workers who were on the stage fell to the ground and were hit by large pieces of equipment. Medical personnel were called in to treat those injured in the accident and transport them for further treatment at medical facilities.
Those that were working on taking down the stage said that numerous mistakes were made during the take down that led to the stage collapsing; it wasn’t necessarily caused by the forklift.
An investigation is currently being conducted into the cause of the accident. Those who were injured may be entitled to workers’ compensation for their medical bills and missed wages if they are required to take time off work. They may wish to consult with a personal injury attorney to ensure that they get the compensation to which they are entitled.
